Biography

Maria G. Torres was born and raised in Venezuela where she worked as a Medical Doctor for  many years. Her passion for healthcare started early when she attended medical school when  she was only 16 years old. At 23 years of age she was already a Medical Doctor. After  completing a one year internship in Internal Medicine, she was accepted in a post-doctoral  program at the Central University of Venezuela specializing in Physical Medicine and  Rehabilitation where she completed a four year residential program earning the title of Doctor  in Physiatry. She worked as a Medical Doctor in Venezuela in both the public system and also  held her own private practice before moving to Orlando, FL.

While in Venezuela she met her husband of 15 years, a U.S. military veteran and Diplomat.  Together they are raising two children here in Orlando, now 10 and 11.

Upon moving to the United States, she attended Nursing School, earning her Bachelor’s in  Nursing Sciences and later a Master’s of Science in Nursing culminating in her certification as  Family Nurse Practitioner. While attending nursing school she worked for a clinic in Downtown  Orlando specialized in Physical Rehabilitation and Pain Management as a Medical Assistant,  and Registered Nurse.

Her calling to help improve the lives of patients with debilitating conditions through her medical  and nursing experiences led her to join the team at Neurology One where she strives to provide  compassionate care for our clients as part of a multifaceted team of experts by applying what  she has learned over the years and cutting edge advancements in medicine adding another  layer of expertise to our family.
