I believe patients deserve to feel heard, understand their condition, and feel confident in their care. At Neurology One, I bring my background in neurology to help patients and their families navigate neurological challenges with clear guidance and compassionate support.
Danny Jesús Calzada Sierra is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Neurology One who trained and practiced as a neurologist in Cuba and Colombia before becoming a nurse practitioner in the United States. His extensive background in neurological care, neurorehabilitation, and clinical research brings a valuable perspective to the evaluation and management of neurological conditions.
Danny earned his medical degree in Santiago de Cuba in 1986 and completed his neurology specialization at the National Institute of Neurology in Havana in 1993. He subsequently cared for patients in hospital and outpatient settings, with experience in general neurology, neuromuscular disorders, and neurological pain management.
His previous leadership roles include Chief Neurologist at the International Center for Neurological Restoration (CIREN) in Havana, where he led the neuromuscular disease clinic and taught neurology, and Chief Neurologist with ESIMED, part of the Saludcoop Group in Bogotá, Colombia.
In the United States, Danny holds board certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner through both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. At Neurology One, he works closely with the physician and advanced practice team, caring for patients with concerns such as headaches and migraines, peripheral neuropathy, dizziness, and seizure disorders.
Danny’s academic background includes 48 scientific publications and 56 scientific presentations at medical congresses. He also has extensive training in neurological clinical research assessments, including measures used in studies of memory disorders, movement disorders, and multiple sclerosis.
