Maria G. Torres is the Chief Nurse Practitioner at Neurology One and a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). Originally from Venezuela, she earned her medical degree and completed a four-year residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry) before practicing in both public and private healthcare settings.
After relocating to Orlando, Maria completed her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her dual background as both a medical doctor and nurse practitioner provides a uniquely comprehensive perspective in patient care.
At Neurology One, Maria evaluates and treats a variety of neurological and neuromuscular conditions, including, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, memory disorders, headaches, neuropathy, and musculoskeletal pain. Her clinical interests include memory care, neurorehabilitation, and chronic neurological disease management. She works closely with Neurology One physicians to support continuity of care and personalized treatment planning.
Maria is passionate about patient education, empowering individuals and families to take an active role in their care. She is also bilingual (English/Spanish) and supports community initiatives focused on brain health, aging, and caregiver support.
Maria lives in Orlando with her husband and two children.
